About Hanji
Hanji is a traditional Korean handmade paper made from the inner bark of the mulberry tree. For centuries, hanji has been valued for its durability, breathability, and natural beauty.
It has been used in Korean homes, books, windows, art, and ceremonial objects.

Unlike many modern papers, hanji contains long natural fibers that create a soft yet strong texture. When light passes through the paper, the fibers create a subtle depth and warmth.
In my work, hanji becomes the foundation for floral sculpture.
Each sheet is carefully hand-tinted and shaped to create petals that echo the delicacy of real flowers.
By working with hanji, I hope to honor a material deeply connected to Korean cultural heritage while exploring its possibilities in contemporary art.
